Best Kid-Friendly Brunch: Whiskey Cake Kitchen and Bar

Whiskey Cake makes some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. Sure, their Wagyu Corn Dog seems like an affront to nature, but this brunch spot’s irreverence is part of its charm. You can swing by Whiskey Cake for Sunday Brunch from 10 am – 3 pm, when you can enjoy tableside mimosas with orange, pineapple, grapefruit, or cranberry juice for $35.

Literally everything here is delicious, but my go-to for brunch is the chicken & waffle dish, which comes with a BACON waffle, sunny side up eggs, and house-made gravy. And if you have the kiddos in tow, don’t worry! Whiskey Cake is super kid-friendly. They serve kids’ pancakes, chicken fingers, mac ‘n’ cheese, silver dollar burgers, and sandwich melts.

P.S. They also serve alcohol-free beverages if your kids want to feel fancy! I recommend the Jessica Wabbit, a refreshing ginger beer mocktail.

Best Deli Brunch: The Hayden

My husband is obsessed with The Hayden, and it isn’t hard to see why. The trendy bistro melds the flavors of a classic Jewish deli with South Texas flavors. Honestly, it’s delicious. You can swing by the Hayden for Sunday brunch from 10 am – 3 pm on the weekends, taking in tasty specialties like Chicken & Latke Waffles, Barbacoa Omelets, and (of course) Bagels & Lox.

  • Address: 4025 Broadway, San Antonio, TX 78209

Healthiest Brunch: Pharm Table

Southtown is known for being the hippy-dippy part of San Antonio, and it’s no wonder that the organic, plant-forward restaurant, Pharm Table, made its home here. The meals here are designed to be not only tasty but nutrient-dense and good for your body. So, whether you’re vegan and need a tasty meal with your pals or you’re just trying to eat a little cleaner, you can still get your brunch fix at Pharm Table.

I recommend the Vegan Sweet Potato Waffles, but they’re also known for their Breakfast Pizza (trust me, it’s good!) and bottomless coffee.

  • Address: 611 S Presa St Suite 106, San Antonio, TX 78205

Best Beignets for Brunch: NOLA Brunch & Beignets

Sure, you’ve had chicken and waffles, but have you ever had chicken and beignets?! Good grief, NOLA knows my love language. I love breakfast tacos, but NOLA takes things a step further for the citizens of San Antonio, serving up a blend of New Orleans-inspired brunch fare. I mean, where else can you get Cajun Boudin Chilaquiles? That’s my hubby’s favorite, but I also love their Brunch Plate, which comes with eggs, grits, sweet praline bacon, and a fried green tomato. And you obviously can’t hold a candle to their beignets—you’ll inhale at least three if you eat here, I guarantee it.

Best Sangria in San Antonio: Sangria on the Burg

Sangria is in their name, so you know they’re going to whip up something amazing. Sangria on the Burg offers brunch every week on Friday – Saturday, 11 am – 11 pm. While you could try the zany Pancake Taco or the kitchen sink Sangria Breakfast, they’re known for their sangria flights, too. Enjoy a sampling of their homemade sangria while you enjoy quirky Tex-Mex inspired brunch fare. The chefs rotate the menu every week, but brunch at the Burg is definitely playful and creative no matter what you order.

P.S. I’m not kidding when I say seating here is LIMITED. I usually order to-go here, but if you insist on dining in, I highly recommend booking a reservation ahead of time.

Best Brunch on the San Antonio River Walk: Ocho

Located inside the historic Hotel Havana, Ocho is a Sunday brunch spot with breathtaking views of the River Walk. This place is a little slice of heaven: when the Texas weather cooperates, you can eat brunch in the breezeway and take in the sights. Ocho is known for its Latin food influences and its brunch is better suited to folks who prefer savory food. I’m a sucker for the Cubano 210, which comes with carnitas, ham, pickles, mustard, and house chips.

Best Brunch Mimosas: The Good Kind

If you find yourself hopping the Saint Mary’s strip, you’ve got to stop by The Good Kind to nurse your hangover. Their approach to cuisine is comfort food that’s good for your body, so if you’re feeling a little guilty about last night’s beer binge, you can enjoy clean, good food here. Oh, and did I mention that their brunch drinks are off the hook? You can order a mimosa kit at The Good Kind for $35, but what makes it special is that you can also order their house-made, cold-pressed juices with it, too. It’s a little bougie, but if you take your mimosas seriously, The Good Kind is a must-try.

Best Pearl District Brunch Spot: Brasserie Mon Chou Chou

Brasserie Mon Chou Chou is one of the French-iest places I’ve ever eaten at— but in a good way. They serve Sunday brunch every weekend from 10 am – 3 pm. This place is definitely a little nicer than some of the other brunch spots in San Antonio, featuring h’ors d’oeuvres like lobster bisque and charcuterie plates. You can’t beat their Pain Perdu, but the Steak Avec Frites (steak and fries) is amazing, too.

Widest Brunch Drink Selection: Maverick Texas Brasserie

Another fave on the Saint Mary’s strip is Maverick, a relaxed brasserie that focuses on Texas ingredients. Sure, Maverick’s brunch menu is French-inspired, but the food is all yeehaw. I mean, where else can you get a Brown Butter Brioche Doughnut? The Steak Frites, Breakfast Schnitzel, and Citrus Salmon Gravlox are a few of my fave dishes here, but Maverick also has an impressive wine list. You can get mimosa bottle service (natch) as well as sherry, champagne, white, rose, red, and even beer.
